Diwali

The name "Diwali" , which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of little clay lamps (diya and dips) full with oil to mean the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in order to make the goddess Lakshmi ji feel welcome. Firecrackers are rupture in order to drive away evil spirits. Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is the Hindu festival. The son of Shiva and Parvati, who is supposed to give his presence on earth for all his devotees in the duration of this festival. It is the day Shiva declared his son Ganesha as superior to all the gods.

Holi

Holi, is a religious spring festival celebrated by Hindus. Holi is also known as festival of Colours.The main day, Holi, also known as Dhulandi in india, is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other. Bonfires are lit on the eve of the festival, also known as Holika Dahan (burning of Holika) or Chhoti Holi (little Holi).

Navaratri, Dussehra, and Durga Puja

The first nine days of this festival are known as Navaratri, and are filled with dance in respect of the Mother Goddess. The tenth day, called Dussehra, is devoted to celebrating the beat of the demon king Ravana by Lord Rama.

Krishna Janmashtami/Govinda

The festival of Janmashtami commemorates the birthday of Lord Krishna, the eighth personification of Lord Vishnu. The festival is also referred to as Gokulashtami, or Govinda in Maharastra. Lord Krisha is revered for his wisdom about how to live life on Earth.
